Samsung Unveils Mega Phone
After the huge success of the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung has decided to take the ‘phablet’ craze a notch higher by launching the Samsung Galaxy Mega phone. The Samsung Mega phone is debuting with a 6.3-inch screen, which is the largest amongst all the Smartphone’s, even trouncing the recently released Huawei 6.1 inch Ascent Mate device.
A media statement from Samsung described the Galaxy Mega as, “a device that combines the portability and convenience of a smartphone with the power, multitasking capabilities and extensive viewing experience of a tablet”. People who had the chance to review the Galaxy Mega are astounded by the fact that it can fit in a normal pants pocket and weighs only 7 ounce. The Galaxy Mega has a 1.7GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor and it runs the Android version 4.2( Jellybean). Also incorporated in the phone is 1.5GB of RAM with built-in storage space of either 8GB or 16GB and a micro-SD card slot.
The Galaxy Mega phone has an 8-megapixel rear-view camera and a 1-megapixel front facing camera. The large 6.3-inch screen, however, is its selling point and it boasts a resolution of 720p, which makes it HD capable. Critics believe it should have been a full HD display of 1080p. Some of its features are 4G/LTE connectivity, the S Translator for language translation, the WatchON feature that makes the phone work as a remote control for TVs, S Travel for travel information and the Group Play feature for sharing data with many devices. The Stylus Pen found in the Galaxy Note is conspicuously missing from this device though.
The pricing details for the Galaxy Mega have not been released to the public yet as well as the roll out dates for the device. It is expected that the device will be released in Europe first before making its way to the US market.
